An overview of the Student Management System, with Q & A, will be held on Tuesday, Feb 14th at 3 pm.  This will be an Elluminate meeting (see "Meetings" button at www.bclearningnetwork.com) and will be aimed at admin, office staff, tech staff, and teachers.  It will be useful to districts who are considering using the SMS next year, as well as those who are currently using it and want to see if there's a few "tricks/ideas" they could be using.

The new bclearningnetwork.com site is up.  It's now based on Moodle 2.2.  The last of the 1.9 updates are out and all future development will be in Moodle 2.X.  The SMS (Student Management System) has been moved to Moodle 2.X and testing has been going on for the last few weeks.

In order to access all of the 2012 updates, new courses, and new SMS features, you need to plan on a Moodle update this summer.  More details will be coming, but it might be a good time to start some general local planning.

BCLN is working on completing new intregration modules within the DL-SMS(BCLN owned student management system) so that the SMS can more seamlessly integrate with the relative functions of both SIRs and BCesis. Regardless of whether SIRs or BCesis remain functioning within B.C. our SMS will be able to extract files from any system. The DL-SMS is available to all members of the BCLN community.

We are currently in the process of planning our summer course development. If you would like to suggest some improvements to specific BCLN courses please add your input into the BCLN discussion forums. Each development ream will review the forum feedback before beginning the improvements to the courses.

BCLN is a grassroots organization that encourages all educators to collaborate, develop and share online learning resources. How do you support your teaching colleagues in growing their professional practices and resources effectively and efficiently?

Note that BCLN encourages teacher to discuss recent courses and practices in the discussion area (www.BCLearningNetwork.com > Course Discussions). Feel free to make an account, whether your program is a member (yet) or not, and become part of the discussion.
