Hi everyone! I created a grade section in one of my courses for something that didn't have grades attached to it. Now, I can't delete it. How on earth do I delete a grade in a course that I don't want?

Hi Grant,
Can you explain what you mean by a grade section? Do you mean an assignment? Or do you mean you went into the gradebook and manually added a grade item?

Either way it is deletable. If it is an assignment then you need to delete the assignment from the course page. If it is a manual grade item then you need to go to grades in the course administration and then categories and items and delete it with the X there.

Does this make sense?

I created it in grades, but it is not linked to anything. It is the top one in the picture that I uploaded called Blogs, not the second one...

Grant - I threw a quick video together which I think will help answer your question:

Let me know if that helped or if you have any follow up questions.
What did you use for your screen capture with the pic in pic & frame?

Hi Julia,

I used Jing Pro.  It's well worth the $15 a year but you'll want to make sure you're using a machine with plenty of RAM. The lack of syncing (or lip-lag) that you see is from my MacBook with 2GB of ram.

Cheers,

-Glenn
