CEET Meets

CEET Meets are free, self-paced, online workshops, hosted in Moodle, that start on a Friday morning and end Wednesday evening. They run through the weekend and are open and available 24/7.

Log-in whenever you want and participate as much as you are able. We encourage participants to spend a couple hours a day exploring the resources, participating in discussions etc.  We have online moderators/facilitators active in the course all the time.

CEET Meets are in the LearnNowBC Moodle site. To attend a Ceet Meet you must first sign up for a LearnNowBC account.

Thank you for the prompt reply and helpful information!

Thank you for registering Anurita. On the course start date you will get an email with a link to log-in. It is in Moodle. Once the virtual doors are open, you can log-in at your convenience. Inside the course, navigation will make sense. Try to spend 1.5 to 2 hours a day going through the course materials, participating in forums ect.

The course is self-paced. There are over 100 registered from locations world wide. It should be really interesting.

I registered for the "Teaching at a Distance".  Do I get more information about the expectations, schedule, links etc. or Do I come back here to login and get involved?  Is it a lecture or just articles to read?  Please help with more detailed information.  Thank you!!

Hi,

Have I missed the M2O: An Introduction to Moodle 2.0 evalution said (or not?) to take place on the last day of the course, or wasn't there any?  Not that I need a certificate.  I just wonder how good my attention is, since I couldn't see a link to it !!!

Congratulations to all of those involved in the course preparation. It was excellent and extremely useful.  As a matter of fact it was a stimulous for my registering in all the others coming up. Thanks

I don't know if anyone else had the same problem I had.  I tried to register but the system kept on erasing the data I had already written and asking me to do it again

Registration is open for all the CEET Meets. Create an account or login to our Moodle LMS to register for one, some or all.

Dear Suehellman. Thank you for clarifying. Anyway, I'll try my best to be present in all, or at least in most of the webinars.  Needless to say that this site is my favorite one (I think anyone can easily notice it from my writing too often in it).  I'm also looking foward to "seeing" y'all in October.

Comment by suehellman on September 26, 2012 at 13:58

@Carlos -- just to clarify. All Meets are asynchronous, but many offer webinars either to kickoff the week or to get a special speaker in. If you can't make it to the webinar, these are archived and the link posted in the MeetMoodle so you can watch at a time that works for you. I look forward to 'seeing' you in October.

I cannot wait for CEET 2012-2013 Meets to begin! ;)

Excellent program.  I'll sure be taking most of these courses, mainly the asynchronous ones, what makes it esier for me because of the difference in time between Canada (BC) and Brazil (4 hours).  Also be there in October and on

Thanks for this year program...will pass on the info to teachers at École virtuelle, the Conseil Scolaire Francophone de la Colombie-Britannique (CSF, SD #93) online middle and high school program. Will be there on October 19th. :)

Caleb - these courses (at least the two I have taken) have been entirely asynchronous, meaning you can participate whenever and wherever.  You don't have to commit to a particular time, but get a chance to try lots of new things with some assistance only a message away.  I highly recommend.

Comment by suehellman on October 11, 2011 at 13:05

@Caleb: The Moodle Meets are open 24/7 for a week. Each person dips independently into the activities and discussions whenever & however it's personally convenient & meaningful.

The dialogues grow as the week progresses and you can choose to opt in or out of email notification as new responses go up. (Sometimes the first Introduction forum cannot be unsubscribed, and if the group is large, there can be a lot of incoming emails. It can be a good idea to open a gmail account and use that as your Moodle Meet email address so your normal in-box doesn't get flooded.  ) You can start a discussion thread in any forum or respond to any others that interest you.

There is only one 'synchronous' event in each Moodle Meet and that is the webinar. The timing of these really depends on the availability of the moderators and the speakers, but they are archived and you can listen/watch later if you can't make it to the live meeting.

I hope that helps.

Looks quite interesting. My only concern is what are the times of these meetings? It will be very difficult to find time for 5 days.

The Franklin quote reminds me of The Honourable David Lam's comment that "Coming to Canada is like being invited to a pot-luck dinner; if everyone brings leftovers, we’ll have a leftover dinner. But if one spends some of one’s time, picks one’s best recipe, and is prepared to give one’s best, we will have a feast.”.
